HP announced their lcd coffee table last year in February as one of their research projects called HP misto. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/pcs/hp-misto-coffee-table-pc-156305.php
Also Microsoft are either infringing on many multi touch patents or they bought someone out.
Either way I’m not impressed with Microsoft’s ingenuity. Copycats

But I’m glad Microsoft is pushing this because maybe it’s just enough to get the herds to buy into it. Lot’s of possibilities. It would completely reinvent the board game.

Actually, in academia, the multi-touch is pretty old technology… probably from the late 80′s to early 90′s. The thing that Microsoft is doing though is commercializing it, and letting us normal people play. Hopefully, they don’t mess it up like the Zune.
