An Inconvenient Truth
After hearing rave reviews about how this is the ‘must-see‘ movie for my generation, I finally headed down to my local Blockbuster and rented ‘An Inconvenient Truth‘. At its basic core, this film is about Al Gore’s efforts to educate the public about the (possible) impending dangers posed by global warming. Directed by Davis Guggenheim, the film really opened my eyes to the frightening realities of a plausible, not-so-distant future.
I know there’s been a lot of debate in the news about the accuracy of the scientific theories presented in this movie. Since I’m no climatologist, your guess is just as good as mine when it comes to deciding which camp is ‘correct’. Instead, what I can do is point you to resources so that you can formulate your own opinions. You can read more about both sides of the argument like here at JunkScience, here at Canada Free Press, and at the National Geographics News – just to name a few.
After watching the DVD, I sat and wondered to myself… if this was the ‘must-see’ movie for my generation, and Al Gore is so concerned with the topic, why in the world did I have to pay to watch it? After searching online, I could find only one or two other bloggers who felt the same. I agree with Michael Eakes (the blogger I linked to) in that if this topic is of much concern, why is it not Bittorrented? Not on Youtube?
Why did I have to pay 5 dollars to rent it at Blockbuster?

You should learn about the “truly inconvenient truth” too.
