For my grandmother…
To My Grandmother
I remember the summer days…
Games of hanafuda, the afternoon cartoons.
All the field trips - to the moon.
Gardening - that floral smell,
the ripened mangos, only you could tell.
Mid-day lunches, a feast for a king,
I’d always wonder what surprise you’d bring.
Trips to the pool, the basketball court,
You’d wait patiently, such a good sport.
All your grace, your loving care,
Instilled in me, Grandma, for me to share.
I’ll remember you best, like those times just above,
Go in peace, Grandma.
- From Ryan, with Love.
